[This is part of the series “Responding to Nutters”, to which I direct conspiracy theorists and loons who crawl from beneath rocks making false accusations.]
I’ve discussed before the lies and smears about me distributed by the dishonest cyber-stalker, Dr Alasdair Richmond.
- In March 2014, Dr Richmond sent Prof Brian Leiter “gratuitously abusive … obnoxious and insulting e-mails”. He sent Prof Leiter these emails to defame me, with smears and lies, based on no evidence, after I had been publicly slimed and smeared with fabrications. He is a smearing liar.
- In 2017, Dr Richmond pestered the journalist & lawyer Helen Dale online, with obnoxious messages, and smears about me. He is a smearing liar.
- In 2018, Dr Richmond pestered Prof Janice Fiamengo with a series of obnoxious emails, containing defamatory evidence-free smears about me. He is a smearing liar.
In short, Dr Richmond is a libellous cyber-stalker who has been obsessed with smearing and defaming me for years.
I comment—hopefully just once more—on the defamatory smears and lies this obsessive crank distributes about me: it is here, in a long rambling defamatory comment on 27 July 2017, 8:32am, amongst multiple rambling tirades of obnoxious smears, lies and fabrications:
“Although he was never Charlotte’s Director of Studies and therefore had no official pastoral role with respect to her, Jeffrey insisted he could help because their shared connection with Birmingham gave him an affinity”
This is yet another defamatory lie.
It is based on no evidence. It is made up.
Alasdair Richmond was obviously not there in 2008. He did not meet Coursier until three years later, 2011. It is a lie and he knows it is a lie.
I “insisted” on no such thing. I insisted on the exact opposite—-as the email record and other detailed witness records (from my wife, from Prof Andy Clark and Prof Bob Ladd) demonstrate.
At the time, November 2008, Coursier sent me countless emails and made countless telephone calls. She contacted me thousands of times in the period November 2008 to May 2009. I insisted that Coursier report her crisis to her doctor and get counselling. I print one such example below.
Coursier refused to accept my advice and refused to do this until a few months later, May 2009. When she did this, it was only because of my insistence, for months, that she report it to her GP and counselling.
Here, for example, is an email 28 November 2008, shortly after she began contacting me in November 2008:

Hello Charlotte,
I’ve made a list of some things to try and get done. But first, your coursework is now officially extended to January. (But try not to think about that for the time being. Just concentrate on trying to get a bit better.)
1. Most important, you’ll need to get a medical note certifying that you can’t get work done at the moment. Have this sent to me at Dept of Philosophy, and I will pass it on to Moira Avraam. 2. Let your disability officer know what the situation is, and that you have an extension until January on your coursework. 3. You mentioned that you could get some counselling help. I think this is a very good idea. 4. I’ll see you on Friday at the honours seminar.
Many other emails also demonstrate this. Several times after this—in February 2009 and again in May 2009—I contacted Edinburgh’s counselling service directly (Mr Ronnie Millar) and asked them to intervene, as I could not cope with the daily telephone calls & messages, several suicide attempts and demands for attention. They refused to intervene, despite the fact that Coursier had taken a large overdose of paracetamol and sleeping tablets on 13 February 2009, and had spent three days in Edinburgh Infirmary (13-15 Feb 2009).
I also reported all this to my Dept Head (Prof Andy Clark) and School Head (Prof Bob Ladd). All of this is documented and recorded.
Dr Richmond is a defamatory liar.
And what happened 2 years later, in 2010 — when Coursier assaulted me and then began stalking and threatening me, because I had rejected her romantic pursuit of me — is not relevant to the events in 2008.
The only connection to two years earlier is that my kindness to her then is how we became very close friends for the next three years. And that is why—contrary to Alasdair’s Richmond delusional, drivelous lies—Coursier emailed me, 3 June 2011,
… after all you are still the person that saved my life and my degree!
The fact is, as vast amounts of documented email and multiple witness statements show, that Coursier romantically pursued me for years, contrary to the flat-out lying from Alasdair Richmond. For example, here are some email messages from her, over a period eight months in 2011 (after she had assaulted me and begun threatening me; so I had broken off contact with her):
“I’ll always love you.” (2 January 2011)
“Can you just explain why you’re ignoring me please?” (25 March 2011)
“I’ll always love you and be wishing you well.” (3 June 2011)
“I’m still so obviously in love with you.” (9 August 2011)
“I split up with my boyfriend because I’m still not over you.” (9 August 2011)
“you’ve made yourself perfectly clear by ignoring me. I’ll just say one last thing: I know the texts I sent were angry and hurtful but they’ve all been a response to you ignoring me.” (18 August 2011)
“for three years Jeffrey you were my world, I loved you more than I’ve loved anyone. You put so much on the line to help me.” (18 August 2011)
This appallingly dishonest liar Alasdair Richmond needs to end his vile defamatory campaign of lies and smears. He is a lying defamatory cunt.
His abusive public tantrum—aimed at a female colleague at the University of Edinburgh, Dr Inna Kupreeva, and which I and several others witnessed in astonishment—is mentioned here. (And here, as it was the same day, 24 November 2010, that Coursier assaulted me.) His vile feminist ideology and interference in people’s private lives—which are none of this malicious pervert’s business—is what led to a student losing her life in Oxford, 10 June 2013. He needs to end his lying, smearing and obsessive cyber-stalking of me (as before, his smearing drivel sent to Prof Leiter, Helen Dale and Prof Janice Fiamengo, and no doubt others) and take responsibility for the lethal consequences of his repulsive ideology.
